Solage Hotel, La Jolla

Solage La Jolla was a design concept for the historic 1020 Prospect Street office building in La Jolla Village. Originally designed by renowned Architects Thornton Ladd & John Kelsey in 1965, the office building was in impeccable condition with an expressed egg crate exterior design. We were specifically challenged to develop a coastal-textural beach language to replace the sunscreens, allowing for usable balconies off each hotel room, however due to the historic sensitivity of the building our hotel clients did not acquire the property which subsequently has been redeveloped into condominiums.

Architectural Photography Darren Bradley wrote this article about the original building.
